Egyptians have first started the practice of doing floral arrangements by around 2,500 B. C. Evidences can be seen in their wall writing and wall carvings. The art of flower arrangements hasn't changed much since then. As depicted as well in their carvings and writings, these arrangements were primarily done using vases and were used for special occasions, funerals, processes, and as centerpieces for tables. Today, they pretty much serve the same purposes and have not really evolved that much.

The art of flower arrangements hasn't changed much since then. Flower arrangements are always delightful to behold. They can help make any boring room look otherwise. Offices, homes, and different types of functions simply cannot do without them. Bouquets, table centerpieces, and wreaths are the most common forms of floral arrangements and they are used for different types of special occasions. Florists usually make it a point to make sure that they use the best flowers and have them arranged to make sure they would suit the occasion they are intended for. This way, they stay in business by giving you your money's worth.
Floral arrangements done by florists are worth it as long as you have the money to spare. However, they do have the tendency to be too costly, not only because of the intricacy of how they are arranged but also, because they tend to be expensive as well when florists buy them from flower growers if they do not own their own flower farms. Peak seasons like Valentine's and Thanksgiving can make floral arrangements balloon in price. Those who badly want to have them simply cannot afford to due to lack of resources.
Artificial silk arrangements significantly changed the way people look at floral arrangements ever since they were first introduced in the market. Silk flowers are seen as a practical alternative to use for silk arrangements instead of having the real thing. Not only are they guaranteed to last even a lifetime as long as they are well taken care of, they are also very much cheaper than the real floral arrangements. They are most especially appealing if you have a need to use them daily or if you are planning to give them away because they are ideal to keep as mementos.
Silk arrangements can be made even cheaper if you make them yourself. It is easy. All you need are the following:
1. Silk flowers and silk leaves
2. Nylon netting to firmly hold the silk arrangement together
3. Wire frames to make the arrangement stand
4. Linen, plain or printed, for added decorative purposes
5. Decorative accessories, like sea shells, beads, and others
6. Nylon netting for keeping them clumped together
7. Printed or plain linen for bouquet arrangements
If you want to buy silk arrangements or, better yet, make some on your own, you are on the right track, especially if your aim is to be practical and economical without sacrificing the look and feel that real flowers can bring to any place. They are really great accessories to have without any hassle.
