Today's canopy wagons are very well designed, are built for comfort, and are very lightweight. There is something about a wagon that makes them so endearing to our children. My children used to sit in their wagon for hours. They were just as happy to sit in them as they were to ride in them. I think that wagons are like a right of passage for kids.

The first wagons to be built were made of metal or wood but most of the canopy wagons today are plastic. Heavy-duty plastic wagons are great in bad weather. They won't rust and they're easy to clean if they get wet or dirty. They're very indestructible in any kind of rainy or snowy weather, making them a great long lasting purchase.
Today's plastic wagons are very parent and child friendly. Many of them have molded seats for comfort and seat belts for safety. They have cup holders for drinks and storage areas for extra supplies. They also have doors that open and close so your child can get in and out easily and safely, and rounded edges to prevent cuts and scratches.
Your canopy wagon will be able to take a beating from your kids and still keep on ticking. They're very durable and can take any kind of roughness. Even if they run into things, over things, or on top of things, they'll still keep going. They have a great turning radius and it's very difficult to tip them over. The extra long handles make it easier to pull them and turn them.
Plastic wagons are very easy to clean and maintain. All you need is a little hot water and mild detergent. Use a soft bristled brush to scrub it clean and then rinse it thoroughly with clean water. You might want to dry off any metal parts that are underneath so they don't rust.
Be careful of leaving your wagon out in the hot sun. The plastic will tend to get very warm and you don't want your child to burn themselves on any hot spots. You should just store the wagon in a cool and shaded area when not in use. Extreme heat will cause the wagon to warp and deform. Your wagon may also experience some fading of color if left out in the sun for too long.
At this age, children need a lot of cognitive and sensory stimulation and a wagon will help to stimulate both of these. When you're out and about around the neighborhood or at the park, your kids will be taking in everything that they see, hear, and smell. They'll be processing all of this information and using their imaginations to drum up little adventures of their own. This is a great way to stimulate both cognitive and sensory development.
Canopy wagons are a great toy that will allow you to show your child around the great outdoors. You can interact with the kids on an important level whether you're heading out for a picnic or taking in an afternoon at the park.
